This study examined and uncovered some prominent dialectical themes that are navigated by Davidson College students who hold the undocumented status. These dialectical themes are the privilege-disadvantage dialectic, the differences-similarities dialectic, the static-dynamic dialectic, and the history/past-present/future dialectic. Students must navigate these dialectical tensions as they negotiate their identity as a part of the Davidson College community and the undocumented community. As these students negotiate their identity, they engage in the social creativity strategy to manage their social identity as a part of a marginalized group. In addition, this study makes theoretical to the study of undocumented students in higher education. Finally, this research provides a comprehensive list of the resources and support that are offered to undocumented students at Davidson College.
